THE HISTORY

In 2010, the Gyro Shack was founded by Gus Zaharioudakis
in Boise, Idaho.

Loving the food served at the The Gyro Shack and seeing the passion Gus has for the food he served, Doug Miller saw potential. With low investment startup costs, simple menu, an underserved market segment, and most importantly, the high quality and great tasting product. Miller felt that The Gyro Shack was ripe for expansion.

Today, The Gyro Shack has turned to franchising as a means of expanding their business while maintaining the strong reputation they are known for.

We pride ourselves on providing authentic and unique takes on the traditional Greek gyros, using only the freshest ingredients with fast made-to-order service. We source our own hummus, make our own Tzatziki, spicy green sauce, veggie patties and prep fresh vegetables daily.

We’ll be there right from the start, guiding you with recommendations on site selection and lease terms as well as specifications and layouts for your franchise location.

The Gyro Shack offers franchisees comprehensive training, access to The Gyro Shack brand including exclusive trademarks, key vendors and suppliers, grand opening assistance, advertising assistance, and ongoing corporate support.

INVESTMENT

INVESTMENT CAPITAL
REQUIREMENT

The total investment to begin operation of The Gyro Shack franchise is $162,500 to $509,000. This includes $25,000 that must be paid to the franchisor.

For a Multi-Unit Operator Agreement to develop three locations, the total est. investment is $174,500 to $521,500. The total investment will vary depending on the number of venues developed. This estimate only covers the opening of one restaurant and the deposit for two additional restaurants.

SITE REQUIREMENTS

The Gyro Shack Restaurants will generally occupy between 300 and 2,400 square feet. In some instances the restaurants may be larger depending on the size of available sites and/or franchisee preferences.

Calculations regarding estimates for leasehold improvements, construction and site work are based upon these square foot estimates. If you locate a site that previously operated as a restaurant, estimated costs for improvements can be significantly lower.

An operating partner must have restaurant experience on 5+ years as well as be vetted as being a good fit with The Gyro Shack brand.

Our Franchise Fee is directly tied to the amount of opening support you receive. Our objective is to build a Brand with experienced operators that need less support, but we will strive to keep visitation by our staff on a regular basis, several times per year.

The average unit takes approximately 4-8 people on shift with a crew size of 12-20. Sales higher than the current corporate location average will require more staff to operate.

While it is possible to own just one location, at this time The Gyro Shack is only Franchising to multi-unit groups.

To invest in The Gyro Shack the royalty fees are 6 percent of the store’s gross sales. Additionally, the marketing and technology fund fees are 1.5 percent of gross sales.

The franchisee approval process may take up to 180 days. We feel it is imperative to find the right franchisees and will take the necessary time to do so. The Gyro Shack requires a proposed site be submitted within 180 days of signing the Franchise Agreement. This may be a shorter period of time depending on real estate availability.
