Doug Miller


Doug Miller has been a small business owner for more than 20 years. Prior to being self-employed, he held a senior sales position with National Cash Register (NCR), a regional sales position with Dataserve, Inc., and then ended as a senior account manager with Mid-Mountain Data Systems. In 1995, Doug purchased a coupon tabloid franchise, a direct mail advertising company out of Portland, Oregon. After growing to three territories, he sold the business and opened a mortgage brokerage firm, Customers First Choice Mortgage, in Boise, Idaho. In 1999, Doug partnered in three Papa Murphy’s franchises and is currently an eight-store owner in three different states. Over the past 17 years with the Papa Murphy’s brand, he has achieved several accomplishments:
  • One of the largest operators in 2013 with nine locations in Idaho and 12 in Texas
  • Received Innovator of the Year Award in 2012 for the “Mini Murph®” make and bake pizza kit.
  • Received the $1.5 Million Single Unit Sales Volume Award
  • Acquired, relocated and/or opened over 30 locations across Idaho, Texas, Oregon and Wyoming.
  • Built the first “Create®” trademark design store in 2013
In addition, Doug has held many leadership positions within the Papa Murphy’s franchise community.  He held the position of DMA president for Austin, Texas; Boise, Idaho; and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Doug was selected by the franchise community to serve on the franchise advisory board (FAB). As Doug’s entrepreneurial spirit grew, he partnered with Seth Brink in April 2015 to purchase The Gyro Shack. Their intentions are to become a “Franchisee Focused” franchisor. Doug has a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Iowa. Doug, Patricia—his wife of 17 years—and their two boys Gage and Whitt are settled in Boise, Idaho. Doug’s love for the outdoors and his commitment to family are his driving forces.

Seth Brink

V.P., Operations and Development

Seth Brink is a franchise executive with more than 18 years experience in multiple roles. Beginning in 1994, Seth entered the food world as an hourly employee with Papa Aldo’s Pizza where he worked for two years. He then went into the U.S. Air Force for four years before returning to a management position at Papa Murphy’s in 2000. From 2004-2013, Seth excelled in two separate DMA oversight positions in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Nashville, Tennessee Papa Murphy’s markets. In 2014, Seth took a position with Papa Murphy’s International as an international market coach in Dubai, where he lived and worked hand-in-hand to begin the development process of Papa Murphy’s in the Middle East. In total, Seth has been involved in building 33 Papa Murphy’s locations across four domestic geographic areas and the United Arab Emirates. Seth partnered to buy The Gyro Shack with Douglas Miller in 2015 and now holds the role of vice president.

Seth has a BSBA in Management from Walden University School of Management. Additionally, Seth attended a UC Berkeley course, Communicating Across Cultures, in 2014.  Seth is currently enrolled in the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program offered by the International Franchise Association.

Seth lives in Boise, Idaho, with his wife of 10 years, Emily and his three children, Jaxon, Kennedy and Harrison.

Gina Casteel

Lead Trainer

Gina Casteel has been in the restaurant business for many years, during which she has excelled in customer service and her passion for training has grown. Her first management job was in Nashville, Tennessee, with a full-service restaurant called Mozzarella’s. After many years there, she moved back to California where she worked as an assistant general manager and corporate trainer for Panera Bread.

In 2004, Gina and her family moved to Maui, Hawaii, where she became the general manager for Jack in the Box. After several years, she decided to open her own business so she could spend more time with her family. In 2007, she began Aloha Sparkle Cleaning Services, and in eight years she grew her company from one property to 75 properties.

Gina has a Bachelor of Science in hospitality/business management from Western Kentucky University.

She has now made Boise, Idaho, her new home. She has been married to Dan for 18 years and has two great kids: son Hunter and daughter Madison. In her free time, Gina enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.

Victor Reyes-Zavala

Lead Trainer – Store Operations

Victor Reyes-Zavala has been in the restaurant business for more than nine years, beginning in 2007 when he began working as a cook for Chili’s Restaurants. During this time he has been dedicated to his passion for food and quality in the kitchen. In 2009, he became a lead cook and trainer to guide new kitchen staff in the concept’s brand goals for food quality. In 2012, Victor joined the founder of the Gyro Shack as the lead cook in order to continue his passion for food. After Doug and Seth purchased the Gyro Shacks in 2015, they could see the skills Victor brought to the table and advanced him to lead trainer – store operations.

Victor has lived in Boise, Idaho since he was 13. Together with Stephanie, his wife of nine years, Victor has three children: Victor, Vivian and Vadien. In his free time, Victor enjoys working on cars.
